What are skinboosters?

Skinboosters (also called injectable moisturisers) are injectable skin treatments which produce a refreshed, plumped yet natural and ‘not done’ look.Products like Profhilo®, Redensity 1 and Seventy Hyal are not used to change the shape of your face but are an excellent choice if you want to improve skin texture and deliver a huge dose of long-lasting hydration.

Why use skinboosters?

As we age, particularly after 30, the amount of collagen, fat and elastin in the skin decreases markedly. The result is a loss of volume, the appearance of fine lines and a general dulling of the skin. Treatments like Profhilo and Redensity 1 are the perfect rejuvenating treatment to combat the signs of skin ageing, hydrating the skin sub-dermally and improving it's overall health.

Primarily, they are used to treat the face, but it can also be used to rejuvenate the neck, décolletage, hands, arms and even knees.

“I have not only noticed the benefits but others have too.”

“Teresa is thorough at talking you through the procedure.

The procedure itself is comfortable and I have not only noticed the benefits but others have too; would definitely recommend.

Teresa is a knowledgeable, skilled, professional and friendly practitioner and I can’t wait to have further treatments with her!”

Which skinboosters should I use?

Skinboosters are an injectable skin treatment made from highly concentrated, highly purified hyaluronic acid, which is far less viscous than hyaluronic acid in dermal fillers and which means it can be directed into the superficial layers of the skin.

Some skin boosters, like Profhilo, are injected into 10 specific areas of the face (5 injection sites of 0.2ml each side of the face), which is in keeping with a protocol called the BAP (bio aesthetic points) technique.

Other skin boosters such as Redensity 1, are injected in spaced ‘blebs’ to the areas that need hydration and collagen induction.

The product then spreads under the surface of the skin where it immediately hydrates deep within the skin, due to hydrophilic (water-loving) properties of the hyaluronic acid.

This treatment is not suitable for patients who are wanting to replace lost volume in specific parts of their face, or those who want to alter the shape of their face or features.
